About

This is just about being able to say thank you, that’s all. Whether you are thanking a friend, your local barista, a co-worker, or even an idea, a place, or a thing - it’s about taking a moment to appreciate someone or something.

Now here’s the kinda funky part: the “thank yous” are always anonymous. While anonymous thanking might seem weird at first, we think it frees people up to say “thank you” in all sorts of situations where they otherwise might not. Think of it as a new way to say thank you, not a replacement for all the other ways we say it.

We think that giving thanks without taking credit is beautiful. Most folks almost instinctively shrug off “thank yous” with “it’s nothing,” or “don’t mention it,” as if accepting the thanks would be self-indulgent or undeserved. We wanted to create a really simple way to say thanks that’s easy to give but not quite so easy to shrug off.

The more easily people can say “thank you,” the more they will feel thankful. And the more that happens, the happier we all are. So go ahead, acknowledge someone’s kindness, generosity, or general fabulousness. We’re all in this together after all.
Here's what the email looks like.

Oh yeah, you can post your thanks too. This is good for when you don’t have somebody’s email address or you are just feeling grateful for something like cold grapes or keyless door locks. This can be anonymous too or you can sign up for an account and include your name.

FAQs

• Do you ever plan on allowing personalized messages?
This is something we are considering, drop us a line and let us know what you think.

• Why should I sign up for an account?
You’ll get a home page which collects all of your posts and gives you a personalized URL like: thankedyou.com/yourname
This is just somewhere to put a bit of personality, you can include a little about yourself and put an image next to your posts

• What do you do with the email addresses of the people I send a thank you to?
Nothing, we use them to deliver your thank you and that’s it. We are thinking about allowing folks with accounts to keep a list for easy reference for sending more emails later.

• Are you going to send me ads and other stuff if I sign up?
Absolutely not, we won’t send you anything. We’ll only send you the newsletter if you want it and check the little box in the sign up form.

• Will you add more features over time?
Yes, we’ll definitely add new features but we’d like to hear your feedback first on what you’d like to see. We're starting a discussion on our facebook fan page which you can join or send us an email.

• Can I post to twitter and facebook as well?
Yes, just click on the little twitter and facebook icons. We’re working on building this into user accounts to automate it.
